Smart people agree with me!
Health Affairs has some great articles this month on the proposed Obama and McCain health plans. The gist of their conclusions: Obama doesn't address cost and his plan isn't sustainable. McCain threatens to increase the number of uninsured.
Cost and access are like chocolate and peanut butter -- two great tastes that taste better together. And yet, each major political party, every single time, only focuses on one of these things.
We spend the most per capita on health care than any other nation on earth. People die every day in the U.S. because they can't access health care services. Our quality outcomes are on par with Slovenia and Costa Rica.
Passionate partisan progressive (P-cubed) that I am, this is one area where we really need some bipartisan ideas and leadership!
